Urban Planning Thesis/ Research Topic Suggestions (Part 2)
Introduction.
To attain a degree in the field of Planning, one needs to write a thesis inevitably. But writing a thesis may turn into a nightmare if the topic is picked up inappropriately. It is a very careful decision to select a topic that produces a good thesis or else. Below discussed are some important points to be considered while deciding a topic for thesis:
- Choose thesis topic as per your area of interest.
- Try to select a topic which is practical in nature and has relevance and importance to the society.
- Keeping the interest of your professor or thesis guide in mind can help in providing good results.
- It is very important to keep your forthcoming years of career in mind and select a topic with futuristic approach.
- Try to be more creative and bring out some unique and different ideas.
- The scope and extent of research shall not be too vast or too narrow as handling the research and collecting information might become difficult.
- Go through the previous thesis papers and topics of interest. This helps in producing a thesis topic.
Infrastructure
Infrastructure is defined as the facilities, structures, networks, systems, equipment or assets that are instrumental in promoting economic growth. It plays an important role in alleviating poverty. Thus, infrastructure plays an important role in development because it clenches its roots deep down in every system.

What is Urban Management?
Urban management is a field that involves the planning, organization, coordination, and control of urban resources and services to meet the needs and aspirations of urban communities. Land use planning, infrastructure management, environmental management, housing and social welfare, transit planning, and economic development are only a few of the tasks and duties included in it. Urban management seeks to develop livable, environmentally friendly, and inclusive urban settings that promote social and economic advancement for all citizens.
Postgraduate program in Urban Management
The information, abilities, and competences needed to effectively manage urban resources and services are taught in postgraduate urban management programmes. Urban planning and design, public policy and governance, urban economics, infrastructure management, environmental sustainability, social justice, and community development are some of the themes this programme normally addresses. Students in the programme learn about the complicated issues that metropolitan regions face as well as how to create and put into practise solutions to these issues. Graduates of the programme can work for municipal and federal governments, nonprofits, consulting firms, and for-profit businesses engaged in urban planning and management. In general, a postgraduate programme in urban management gives students a thorough grounding in the subject, qualifying them for leadership positions in the field and other related fields.
